Brixham is a small fishing town in Devon situated at the southern end of Torbay. The town is built around a harbour and it is the home of Britain’s largest fishing fleet. Also situated here is a replica of Sir Francis Drakes flag ship The Golden Hind. Brixham Holiday Cottages are mostly situated around the harbour and are only minutes walk away from several beaches in the area.
The cottages can sleep from two to six people and they are all furnished and decorated to very high standards. They are light, airy and open plan. From most of them you can look out of large windows and get spectacular views over the harbour. Brixham Holiday Cottages are reasonably priced and there should be something to meet most people’s budgets.
From the cottage you can walk to the harbour which has lots of independent shops and cafes. There are also a selection of kiosks which offer shark fishing trips and cruisers around the bay and along the River Dart. There are several beaches in Brixham and the main one is Breakwater Beach. This is a beach that is pebbly and has very shallow waters near the shore which is good for the kids to go paddling in.
Further off shore the waters become much deeper and this is a popular area for divers. Shoalstone Beach is also a good place to visit and it has an outdoor, salt-water swimming pool which is free to use. There are two main walking routes around Brixham and they both take around one hour to complete. There is the Panorama Route and the Mariners Way, both give excellent views across the town.
Brixham Holiday Cottages provide the perfect base from which to go out and explore this fantastic place. You can travel further afield and visit places such as Torquay and Paignton but there is plenty to see and do in Brixham. This is a holiday that will keep every member of the family occupied and you can be as active or as lazy as you like. Brixham holiday cottages are great places to relax in and to recharge your batteries.
